fun DIY jersey dresses & a prayer request

i've finally come around to making these cute, simple jersey dresses for the girls. they're so easy to make! i love that the edges can be left raw, so much more easier for me. when time permits, i'd love to make tons more for the girls.

tomorrow we have a family meeting with my grandma's doctor. we're all so anxious and relieved that we get to have more answers to our heart ache. i pray God is glorified and seen in tomorrow's outcome.

DIY Tribal Leggings

I was really diggin' the tribal leggings for kids and wanted some for Story but never really was fond of the price. I came across some clothes I wasn't making use of, and it dawned on me-- the fabric was exactly what I would like for Story's leggings! So, plugged in the handy-dandy sewing machine and made some for her. Not a penny was used. Jackpot!

DIY Scalloped Shorts and 14 Weeks

I'm past the 1st trimester and I'm big. People look at me funny when I tell them how many weeks I am. I also have to tell them "I get big." No lie. I'm pretty much anticipating being as big as I was with Story
: / Oh well, I can't do anything about how my body carries my kids.

As am trying to figure out what clothes to wear--I'm at a weird stage of weight, I'm not big enough for a lot of my maternity clothes, but I can't fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes either. I made these scalloped shorts 6 months ago but they fit funny :( I recently tried them on, thinking maybe they'll fit better since I've gained weight and they did fit better! It was nice seeing my DIY scalloped shorts not go to waste :)

Btw, I love my thrifted funky shirt! And it still fits even though I'm preggo!

Got the DIY idea here, but decided to first make shorts, since I had fabric.

Surprise!

A few months ago, the girls and I went birthday shopping for Key at H&M. Every time we go there, Key wants everything in the little girl section, naturally. This day was no exception. "Mommy, can you buy me this?" happened at least 50 times. As I try to be a smart shopper, I have to weigh things out--is it necessary, useful, on sale, can we wait, etc.

The previous time there, she begged for hair accessories, which I bought her, thinking this would be a good buy since she'll actually wear them--wrong. She only wears them when she and Story play princess at home. I try getting her to wear them out, but they usually come off in the car.

OK, so next time I'll be a smart buyer, at least in theory :) So this time, she asked for a cute, Hello Kitty wallet. She's never had a wallet, but Rock does (she reminded me of this). I thought about it, but then concluded "I'll just make one!" Call me a cheap skate, but I told her no, and that I would make her one. With trying to keep my word, this is my novice, Hello Kitty wallet project. Lots of mistakes but she doesn't care.

Cut, layered, and sewed...

Made a Hello Kitty design then sewed onto homemade wallet
attached velcro and hand sewed little clip buttons
I made a fabric lining on the outside, to cover up the stitching of the velcro. I cut, sewed, turned inside out...

  then attached the fabric.
Fabric glued the tiny nose.
 Then, voila!

Why is Story closing her eyes? It ain't for her!

She was so happy that sang a 10 minute song, she made up, about her wallet! It was so cute! I love her!

Super Hero Theme

This year my sister and I decided to do a super hero themefor our family.  PJ and I were not gonna participate because he had previously committed to something but last minute we decided to join in the festivities!  Glad we did, it would of been weird not to.

Super Rock! (shirt and cape done by his auntie Heather)
Super Key!
Abba Kent and Super Baby!
Super Woman!
(I recycled this old costume, I cheated :)

After fighting crime in Los Angles we headed over to the party to socialize.  What do you expect?  Fighting crime gets boring after awhile :)
We didn't expect any "Bad Guys" there, but where there is good, evil is right there... Holding you???

Super Dad and Super Mom!

Super Kenedy
who would call herself Super Rock.  She's so cute.
"The Bad Guy & The Bad Girl"
Wolverine and His Wife or Kid...No one knows.
The kids even won trophies at our Rec Center for "Most Unique"
Back to fighting crime again.

Hope you had a splendid Halloween!

Where the Wild Things Are

...After Max steps off his private boat tumbled by the ocean, he begins exploring.
Max hears some rustling of leaves...
he turns to see if anyone is following...
someone or something is lurking in the forest...
the unknown wild thing wants to befriend Max.
she begins to follow him
Max sees the wild thing!
So, she roars her terrible roar...
Gnashes her terrible teeth, rolls her terrible eyes, and shows her terrible claws...
But Max says "be still!"
She fears this creature, and declares Max to be the king of the wild things!
Max the king, exclaims "let the wild rumpus start!!!"
...

What a splendid wild rumpus.
